A friend of YOURS is a friend of MINE

Hi ladies- hope your work/school week is going well. Take a minute to check out our new post and comment!

Here's the scene. You are currently in a relationship and you have had the pleasure to chill with your boyfriend's closest friend on numerous occasions, as a group. One day you exchange phone numbers with the friend. Why? A couple of reasons: "Maybe she can tell me more of what he likes to do, eat or watch." "I'm thinking of doing a surprise party, maybe he can help me with the invites" Perhaps its a matter of convenience in the event of an emergency. "I'm in the hospital." "I haven't heard from him. I want to know if everything is okay." (PLEASE NOTE: there is a clear difference between being a concerned girlfriend or a complete psycho path).

Is it acceptable to exchange personal information (i.e. phone number, email, etc.) with your boyfriends best bud? And does it matter if that friend is of the opposite sex?

  1. well for what reason do u need the bff number? unless it is to plan a surprise party, or for emergency purposes..fine..but other than that? not needed. yes a friend of his is a friend of mine, however, its is healthy to maintain separate friends and when all comes together..it equals a great time...you gotta maintain some level of individuality just because we are together, i am still me and i still needs to keep some things for me!

  2. i agree. it depends on the intent/means of exchanging numbers to begin with because even if it were for "professional" reasons it too can open the door to much unwanted behavior in the future. meet up as a group, enjoy each others company and keep it moving.
